Quentin Blake

Quentin Blake was born in 1932 and showed an interest in art and drawing from a very early age. Quentin Blake is world renowned for his illustrations and has always followed a career in illustration. Roald Dahl is possibly the most famous author with whom Quentin Blake has collaborated bringing to life his childrens books with his illustrations.

Quentin Blake has also worked on creating characters for his own books – including Simpkin. In 1999, Quentin Blake was appointed the first ever Childrens Laureate, a post designed to raise the profile of childrens literature.
